Hello! (And a Little About Me)

Paula Skaggs is a Chicago-based journalist specializing in online media and editing. She is recent graduate from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN (Um Ya Ya!), where she studied Political Science (focusing on political communication), American Studies and Media.

Paula’s work has been featured in the Huffington Post, USA Today, C-SPAN, HelloGiggles, the Examiner and the Rochester Post-Bulletin. She spent most of her college career at the Manitou Messenger, where she served as the newspaper’s Managing Editor (after spending two years as the news editor). Highlights from her time there included covering the “Great Mellby Flood of ’11″, interviewing her hero Dan Rather (where they discussed his run-ins with the Dean during his time as a college newspaper editor) and once consuming a solid dozen cups of coffee during a particularly difficult all-night editing session.

In the summer of 2010, Paula served as an intern for the “1 for All” campaign through the Freedom Forum/Newseum in Washington D.C. She returned to D.C. in the summer of 2011 to intern for C-SPAN. Between the two summers, she (almost) finally mastered the city’s Metro transit system.

In her free time, Paula enjoys exploring her new passion for documentary film making, eBaying and writing in third person.
